Bought this product a little over a year ago because we love to eat outdoors but didn't want to have to bundle up as the sun started to go down earlier and earlier in the fall. The reason we chose the portable model is that we've got a weekend cottage that we use thru the end of October. Well, the Heat-N-Go has worked beautifully for us. We've now used it for 2+ heating seasons (fall 2007, spring 2008, and so far this fall) and have used it enough to go thru a full 17lb LP tank. Through all that usage it has never failed to light on the first push of the built-in igniter. It provides a very comfortable circle of heat and seems to be quite efficient in terms of LP use. We probably have gotten more than 20 hours of use from that first tank.The assembly and disassembly felt a bit awkward the first few times but once I had done it a few times and was familiar enough with the parts and the process to no longer need the manual, it became easy to do and only takes 2 - 3 minutes. The included carrying bag is very cleverly designed with pockets and velcro straps so that all the components have a secure spot with no rattling or damage in transit.We highly recommend this product.

Have used this heater for two seasons, easily going through two 20 lb propane tanks each year with it. Never had had a problem lighting or getting it to stay on. We also have a large standard standing patio heater that cost almost twice as much as this one, but it is not nearly as easy to use. Because of the frequent use, I only disassemble this in the spring, and put it back up late in the fall. The actual area covered is a little smaller than the standard patio heater, but for the cost and ease of use, this can't be beat.

I was attracted to this heater because it was much more economical than the others (Priced lower). To my surprise this item is completely portable and very well built. It comes with all the tools you need and a travel bag (perfect for camping, tailgating, etc.). The only thing you will need is a propane tank (not included).Bought this for outdoor activities (eating and socializing) in order to extend the outdoor season and enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. I love the fact that it does just that and during the summer months, I can pack it up and put it away without it being out all year long. this unit is the only unit I know of that comes with a storage bag and is easy enough to assemble and take apart.Pros: Strong and solid base, well built, full size unit at 7' tall, portable -fits into a 29" zippered carrying bag (included), easy to assemble and disassemble (takes minutes).Cons: removing the protective plastic on the metal parts takes time and patience when you first buy it. Once it's done, you're good, but it took us longer to take the plastic off than it took to assemble the unit.Note: if the hood does not align to the heater core (nuts stick out of heater core and you have to align the hood and use the wing nuts to attache the hood), If they don't align, loosen the nuts on top of the heater core to adjust (to line things up) and then retighten. It's easy to do, but not clear in the instructions.
