Smooth-On's the Best!!!!!

I have to say there is no one more consistent than Smooth-On. I purchased a trial kit of the their special effects silicones Dragon Skin and Ecoflex and found them to be incredible products. Not only did the perform as stated, they were consistent when you mixed two batches with the same amounts.I heard many great things about Smooth-On from Guy Louis XVI of FuseF/X and I gave them a try and I'm hooked. I was so excited when I got the brush-on kit today, I'm literally jumping like a kid in a candy store.They have everything you need to make a mold of something and reproduce it in their awesome two-part liquid plastics. THIS IS NOT A LIFECASTING KIT! The silicones in this kit are primarily for industrial use, which means it only meant for molding inanimate objects and is not skin safe. But fret not, Smooth-On carries a lifecasting material called Body Double on their site that was specifically developed for lifecasting and is skin-safe. Believe me, their stuff is worth every penny you spend.Also the staff at Smooth-On are the best in the business and are willing to help you on whatever you need. Their Tech support is top-notch as well, so give them a ring about your next project and they'll guide you through it.Also this is a great starter kit for anyone interesting in making molds and casting replicas of their own artwork in plastic. The kit contains everything you need just short of the kitchen sink (if you plan on molding it of course, lol):- Rebound 25, a platinum-cure silicone molding rubber- Smooth Cast 300, a two part liquid urethane plastic- Sonite Wax, mold release to keep the plastics from sticking during molding- Thi-VexII, a thickening agent for the silicone mold- Quick start instructions and regular instructions.- Instructional DVDYou supply the model, mixing cups, stirring sticks, gloves, etc. Just be sure if you are casting a sculpture from oil-based clay, that it doesn't contain sulfur. Most will say if it's doesn't, like Chavant NSP (non-sulphurated production) or Prima Plastilina. Van Aken is supposed to be good too. Again this kit is great for beginners looking to get into moldmaking and casting, and Smooth-On's tech support can be found online as well if the instructions were detailed enough (they are complete with pictures to cut the guess work, aren't they the best). You're only limit is your imagination and I know definitely I'm going to have fun with this!

Exactly what I needed.

I used this product as my first foray into molding and casting polymer clay figures. Everything worked very well, exactly as described. Directions were easy to follow, none of the materials had any significant odor, and were overall pleasant to work with.

Perfect Hitch!

Hi everyone, I own a 2006 Nissan Xterra, and I wanted a hitch. I spent hours on the forums and the internet looking at reviews, and settled on the Reese. It seems that some of the hitches (from other companies) have issues fitting between the frame rails on the Xterra and require you to bend the ears of a BRAND NEW hitch. And some require unbolting a part of the exhaust. Well with the Reese, it was totally 100% bolt on...no bending, contorting, and removing or bending the exhaust. I am very happy with the product. If you have an X, this hitch is the way to go.

Time for an upgrade

For many years I have been using an old Dynaco 410 amplifier to power a subwoofer in my home theatre system. I had access to a Behringer EP2000 from another system and decided to give it a try in place of my old Dynaco. It worked quite well, but the cooling fans were just a bit too noisy for a home stereo/theatre system unless you have the amplifier tucked away in an equipment closet.I also tried a Behringer A500 (which has totally silent passive cooing) and it also worked quite well, but it didn't have as much power as my old Dynaco. Both of these Behringer amplifiers sounded better than my old Dynaco so it was time to retire my old amp for a new one. I wanted more power than the A500, but less fan noise than the EP2000. Amazon.com Warehouse Deals had a Samson SX1200 available for a reduced price so I checked its specifications. This amplifier doesn't have the built-in switchable subsonic filters that the Behringer amps have but I felt I didn't need that for a home theatre subwoofer amp. What this Samson amplifier does have is variable speed cooling fans. I took a chance, hoping the fans would be quieter than the Behringer EP2000. I discovered it indeed has quieter fans, even more so than the cooling fan on my PC, so that's good enough for me. Even with the sound level cranked up, I haven't heated up the amp enough to notice much if any increase in the noise level of the fans. While playing some DVDs with very low frequency content, I observed that I could almost count the frequency cycles of the subwoofer cone moving in and out. That indicates to me that this amp is passing very low frequencies to my subwoofer. The sound from this amplifier seems to be as good as the Behringer amps, and the fan noise is less so I'm pleased with this purchase. If you don't need as much power as this Samson, (300 RMS/channel at 8 ohms, 450 RMS/channel at 4 ohms) the Behringer A500 also does a decent job, and has the additional RCA phono inputs for easy home theatre connection. The Samson SX1200 and the Behringer EP2000 have typical balanced TPS inputs, but will also accept unbalanced inputs from typical home theatre receivers if you use a TS to RCA phono adapter cable. Most all of these DJ/PA amplifiers typically have a setting switch for parallel input operation. This allows an input connected to channel one to also appear on channel two. You may also bridge the outputs of these amplifiers to power just one subwoofer of the proper impedance, if you so choose.

Great boots for travel and general wear

These have been great boots. I am on my fourth pair of the Altitude series- a version I, version II, and now 2 version IVs. All have been good buys for me. The version IV have been the best but all have been good.First, I have a high arch and have always been hard on any footwear with a tendency to walk on the 'outside' of my foot. I wear these boots to travel in and work in while traveling. Many a mile in airports, many miles on concrete, gravel, dirt, and inside simulation facilities. When I travel I tend to only take these boots - my work rarely requires dress clothes, the boots look good in an open collar work environment, they are comfortable, and taking only 1 pair of shoes does cuts down on packing requirements quite a bit for longer trips (3 weeks or longer in duration).I have taken these boots on three overseas trips - they did well in the Scottish highlands (twice), and London. They did equally well on the beaches of Hawaii, Myrtle Beach, and Cancun. They have done me well in wet and sand - hot and cold.To add to this endorsement, not only am I hard on shoes I am also quite fat these days - topping 300 pounds. For my health I maintain a walking routine of 1-3 miles a day whenever possible. When I travel, these boots are also my walking shoes.In general Hi Tec have always fit me well. I go back 40 or so years to wearing the Lite series of Hi Tecs while I was in my running the Appalachians days. Given my high arches, a tendency for very bad calluses, rebuilt right ankle, 2 knees that varied doctors have wanted to cut on since early Army days, and now my weight I am very picky on shoes. These are the best of the Hi Tec boot types that I have found.I suspect I have seen the best of my current set of boots - maybe six more months or so of regular wear till they become yard work shoes till their final demise. I have never worn out the uppers in these boots. I have worn the sole down to a smooth surface and worn out the insides (after using new insole inserts a couple of times). They are tough boots.And I have a back up pair ready to take the place of the current set.On a down side, these style of boots (in general, not just Hi Tec) are not sturdy enough for doing squats in Power Lifting circles. One needs a higher and stiffer boot than what the modern ilk of hikers provides. This is the only limitation I have found for these boots.

I'm on my 5th or 6th pair of these boots. I'm a meat cutter. I'm on my feet, in the cold for 8 hours a day. My feet are warm, dry, and comfortable. When I wear these out, I'll buy another pair. End of story.

I am very hard on soles and have finally worn these out after two years of hard use. These shoes do it all- look nice, keeps water out, and is the most comfortable I have ever worn. I am looking to get the exact same pair- but hard to find on sale anywhere but since the are so nice, they are worth the price.

She can't stop staring at it!

Bought this as a two year anniversary present for my girlfriend. Arrived within a week of ordering (she is a size 7). She absolutely loved it! She wears it everyday, and two months later I still catch her staring at it. She has shown it to everyone, and they all agree it is gorgeous. It looks a lot more delicate on her finger than on the picture, but that makes her love it even more. The details on it are amazing. Well worth it, so if you are thinking about it, don't hesitate, I'm sure you will love it as much as she does.She uploaded some pictures, so you can see how nice it is from all angles.

very letdown

I am very let down by the quality and appearance of this ring. the garnet is beautiful~ it has wonderful color and light. but the quality of the silver is so dull and lackluster, honestly, it looks like those rings i used to buy as a child that were displayed in foam rubber at the dime store. No matter the quality of the garnet, it looks like a complete fake because the silver around it looks like tin! The detail of the mold is very good, but again, the silver has no glimmer, no weight.I cleaned it with jewelry cleaner and there was no improvement. I am highly disappointed as I love some of the other designs by this vendor. but honestly, i don't even want to wear the ring it looks so awful.

Really nice and full

I have shopped around for garland for some time for my stairwell. I needed four 9' strands so price was a consideration. This was very full and it didn't look cheap. They were folded flat in the box and had to be "fluffed up" which took some time. Where they were folded, there was a sharp crease in the garland which was very difficult to smooth out. It doesn't drape naturally, you have to manipluate the garland to make it look like it is draping. It could also use more flocking. Be warned, with all of the manipulation, you will loose a lot of the flocking until you get this garland the way you want it. You will have quite a mess to vacuum.That is to be expected with anything flocked I suppoe. This looked really classy once it was up and I was happy with it. I just wished it was not so rigid. For the price, you can't beat it. I paid about $50 a strand.

This alarm is terrific!

This is a terrific bed alarm. This will keep your loved one safe in bed. If they pass through the infared ray ,the alarm goes off, signaling a caregiver to come and assist.It is loud enough to wake up a caregiver but it is a nice sound, a lot like a doorbell. The alarm comes with a separate unit that can be kept in a separate room so that only the caregiver will hear it or it can be set so that the alarm goes off in the room that the main unit is is in.

This alarm works perfectly for me. I use it when I have a relative staying with me who has dementia. I lay the sensing unit on the floor at the end of the bed and have the remote with me in another room. When my relative gets up, the chime on the remote alerts me. I've read some other reviews that complained that the chime was too loud, even at the low setting, but for me that's a good thing, it definitely wakes me up, but it doesn't startle me. The chime has a pleasant sound, identical to some wireless doorbells I've heard.The sensing unit also comes with a bracket that can be screwed or taped for permanent mounting. The sensor can be turned more than 180 degrees within the bracket, and can easily be removed from the bracket for changing batteries. The remote has a teardrop shaped hole on the back that can be used to mount it. I've previously seen these types of mounting holes on wall clocks.The sensor and remote each use a 9 volt battery for their power. The sensor has three settings - off, chime, and remote. If you choose chime, the chiming will occur at the sensor, not at the remote. If you choose remote, the chime will occur at the remote, not at the sensor. There is not an option for the chime to occur at both the sensor and remote. The remote has three settings - off, low volume, and high volume.

Buyer Beware

**CAUTION** Seller does not ship the "Posey" brand.I received a cheap knock-off brand called "Wander".Seller was unhelpful, and I had to file an Amazondispute to get a full refund. During the dispute Idiscovered a similar item on Amazon called DrivewayPatrol with a 400 foot range and a better quality feelfor about $15. It accurately alerts me each time mommakes a move.

The GearRatchet set has been a huge help in my shop. The quality seems to be super and handles almost any type job. The locking flex head pass thru ratchet is wonderful coupled with the pass thru sockets. No bolts are too long to handle. Great product in my opinion!

Very tough, reliable set. Beat the living piss out of the 6" extension and the 3/4" socket for 9 hours yesterday and not a single hick-up. I do have one minor complaint....the rings on the 3" and 6" extension that hold the sockets on could be a little better. They hold the sockets on but it's not a very positive lock up.I would definitely recommend this set to everyone

Nice for hard to reach paces, sockets a bit weak

For a pass through set, this is a great set. I love the long handle ratchet with the locking head it will fit just about anywhere. But I did break a 9/16 one time when the socket slipped off a nut I was trying to break loose. If its that tight grab a regular socket set. The sockets are strong but they are also very thin and can break. I wrote to the company and they sent me a new one.
