I installed this system on my 01 Silverado ext cab short box with the 5.3. Installation was easy, for the most part. Only took about 2 hours start to finish for the initial install, about another hour or so of messing with it to get it adjusted right. Like other reviews for these kits say, installation goes easier with the spare tire removed. (I also found that you can remove the stock system without cutting it up by removing the spare tire as well as lifting the truck up slightly with a jack). For the adjusting part: I had some clearance issues with the pipe for the drivers side dual that runs around the rear axle, it wanted to rub on the transfer case cover, but after some messing around with it I was able to find the right angle. The passenger side dual also had some clearance issues with the rear shock before it was welded, it wouldn't stay in place, instead it would rotate and rub on the dust cover for the shock, melting it. The hangers are ok, but flowmaster could have done a way better job with the types of hangers they used. My drivers side exit pipe likes to fall off (sag down from where its supposed to be) because there is nothing keeping the little rubber hanger from vibrating off of either of the hanger bars. I plan on changing out that hanger with one that loops around the pipe instead. I would not recommend driving very long with the kit just bolted on, it definitely needs to be welded in place. It's a good deal for the price, but will need some adjusting to fit right. I love the tone of the muffler. Agressive with decent volume, NOT TOO LOUD and is quiet when you need it to be so you wont get the annoyed looks from people. If I were to buy it over again, I wouldn't install it myself, would have a shop modify it to get it to fit perfectly. Or I would probably just buy the muffler and have the shop do the rest. But, that would also probably cost quite a bit more money than buying this kit and doing it yourself.

I used the fitment tool to purchase this product and I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado New body style 5.3L. The fitment tool does state that this product fits my truck but it does not. the first pipe that connects from the flange you bolt on to the muffler is bent too much making it impossibe to fit it to my muffler. The rest of the system fits perfectly using all of the pieces and pipe hangers. I paid 558.00 bucks for a bolt on system that wont bolt on! I had to use the existing stock pipe first and put on a 12" extention piece to fit to the muffler. The issue is the 1st instructions say CUT OFF YOUR EXISTING PIPE BEHIND MUFFLER AND REMOVE. BY THE TIME i FIGURED OUT IT WOULDN'T FIT I HAD NO MUFFLER AND PIPES I JUST CUT OFF MY TRUCK. I think the fitment tool should be updated. Sense part of the system fits I should have to pay part of the price!!! This way a huge inconvienience I love the sound and performance just wish it would of fit without mods.

2005 Chevy Silverado LS 4.8L Extended Cab (the one with a bench seat in back and suicide doors with no handle on the outside) with regular bed. Fit great!
