I'm purchasing my third one of these beds in 9 years right now--which tells you two things: I like the product, but it only seems to last for about 3 years before the side seams split. The mat is very effective at keeping cool as long as you don't put it directly in the sun or in a hot car. My dogs have loved it and used it consistently during the hot weather. The same company makes a cool mat pillow for people (the "chillow") and I'm thinking about getting that for myself this year too!
