well-made product, compact storage
By G. Slippy
We purchased this shower for use on a long, cross-country camping trip. It quickly became the favorite gadget we brought. It sets up in a few minutes. We used an extension hose to attach it to a 20-lb tank of propane, rather than worry about consuming the little 16-oz bottles of propane. It is very well-sealed, so take care to observe the safety instructions, particularly the part about heating the water only while the hand pump is removed so that the tank doesn't pressurize like a boiler. The tank is fitted with a safety valve, but you don't want to utilize it via careless use. The safety valve is useful for venting air pressure so the tank can be opened before all the water is gone. Otherwise, you have to open the shower valve, wasting water just to reduce the tank pressure. The tank-mounted thermometer is very helpful for knowing how warm the water is, but it also tells you the ambient temperature when you pull it out of the (very nice) carrying case. You really have to turn up the gas on cool mornings to hit the 100 degree target. On hot mornings, we often used the shower without any heating, as the cool shower was refreshing. Since many campgrounds don't have convenient showers, we really put this to use. Wearing swimsuits (!), it's easier if a friend operates the shutoff valve while you operate the shower head. This conserves water. Working this way, we were able to provide about 3-4 decent showers from one filling of the water tank.My only complaint is that the legs fall off the base without warning, when setting it up or moving it a few feet. They initially appear to stay put, but then slide off. It would be nicer if they had a coarse thread or some other retention. Several times we'd have the unit set up, but need to move it a few feet, only to see the legs fall off when picking it up.For operation, we'd pump up the air head about 20 times, then add about 10-20 pumps as the water depleted throughout the successive showers. This keeps a nice pressure going. This shower was also useful just for washing hands and shaving, and I even used it once to rinse dirt off part of the car. We were able to transport it from campsite to campsite pre-filled with water, and it didn't leak. I recommend filling it at a campsite spigot, then installing the pump and carrying it by the pump handle. As mentioned earlier, don't forget to remove the pump when heating. Be very cautious of the base after heating, since it stays extremely hot for a short while.Everything is made of stainless steel or other rust-free materials, except the base.I highly recommend this product.

Zodi Extreme Show is great
By J. Kraftchak
I had been using the solar shower bags for years and found them to be adequate however I could never really stand up in shower because the bag hung so low. This year I purchased the Zodi Extreme Shower and it rocks! On 2.5 gallons of water you get just about 4 full minutes of running water for a shower. The directions say no more than 20 pumps but I have found about 30 is right. It heats up the water from a chilly 60 degrees to a nice warm 100 degrees in about 10 minutes so its pretty darn fast. You get great pressure for showering and I can stand up! The only bad thing I can say about it is that the hose is far too short (about 6 feet) but a 10 foot length of the same hose from Home Depot and some couplers and hose clamps (total of about $6 and I had a nice long hose. Other issue is that someone needs to turn it on and off for you since once you heat it up you really can't take it into the shower tent with you. Other than those to minor things I love this shower! I don't have to worry about how cold the water is or whether its late at night or not any more. This is a must have if you camp a lot and what a hot shower where there are no facilities!

The way it is done
By rhodeymark
OK - after several trips "roughing it" where we packed in water to the woods, I can say that the ZODI Extreme is a winner. A 5-star item when used properly and tweaked just a bit. The first improvement is to put a sink sprayer (squeeze) head onto the hose, that way the tank valve can be left in the open position and the tank can be pressurized/operated by one person with the hose hanging up. ZODI should consider that, but probably doesn't because of lawyers. If you are not an idiot, go for it, you won't get hurt. Next, get a thick plastic cutting board, just a little larger than the canister will do, and place it in the corner of your shower tent. When heating and placing the canister, making sure the ground is level should be your first priority. Once the water hits 100-110, turn it off, place the pump into the canister and lock it down, and use the handle to carry the whole unit into the shower with you. Set it onto your cutting board and you now have one-person total control of water flow and pressure. No need to wear a swimsuit in the shower.
