The best monitor I tried
By tim_sf
Crisp, clean, bright picture. Brilliant colors. Much better viewing area than the cheaper competition. Hands down the best monitor I tried. I have tried:Gateway FHD2400 24" widescreenSamsung 2496HM 24" widescreenSamsung 245BW 24" widescreenand this one.The 245T has a pixel viewing angle of 178 degrees compared to the others which are 160 degrees. That means that I can see all the screen including the edges of the screen clearly. 24 inches is big. With a lesser viewing angle, the only clear viewability is directly forward at eye level. With 160 degrees, I look to the lower left edge of the screen and images are blurry and less color. 178 degrees allows it to be as clear and crisp no matter where my eye/head position is. With the 160 degrees, when I walked over to the monitor (standing) I could not see the elements of the taskbar (e.g. look for a "new mail" icon). I had to bend down and look at eye level to make out what was on the screen. With 178 degrees, I can see it while standing up. Huge difference. The colors on this are the best too. The picture is clean, whiter, hotter, more adjustable. All the others had overly-red saturation no matter what settings I tried. The 245T has actual buttons rather than the dumbly-designed touch/heat sensitive panel on some others.I ordered this on Amazon, and it arrived next day and works beautifully. It's more expensive than the other monitors, but I use a monitor all day. Chintzing on a monitor would be a bad idea, like trying to save money by buying a cheaper mattress, or a cheap desk chair. Not a good idea to buy bad quality for something that is an integral part of my life.If my needs were less vigorous, like paying bills online or other tasks that only involved brief episodes with a computer, I might be satisfied with one of the other cheap models. But in my opinion, there is absolutely no comparison between the 245T and anything else I saw in my extensive searching for a 24" widescreen monitor. The 245T is worth it.

Very good monitor
By S. Quinn
If you are a graphic designer, photographer or just someone who wants a high quality monitor that can produce consistent color, and has a wide viewing angles, this is for you. This has a S-PVA panel, which is far superior to cheaper TN LCD panels used in less costly monitors. If you spend a great deal of time in front of a monitor for work, especially with color critical applications, it is well worth the additional cost. Out of the box this needs calibration, and the reds were "hot" which can be dealt with by reducing the red saturation controls. I have not noticed any buzzing sound as other have noted, even with my ear to the monitor. Overall, an excellent monitor and a good option versus the even more expensive Apple Cinema Displays.

Spectacular
By Alan Brinton
I bought this sight unseen after reading some reviews, as local dealers had only the 245B. After a few days, during which I haven't yet done much with the menu system, I have to give it five stars simply based on the visual display, which is incredible right out of the box. I am moving up from a 19" standard LCD monitor (HP) and wondered if I should go higher than 24". If you're making a similar move, I'd advise you to be careful. I see now that anything larger than 24" would be too much for my purposes. Probably 22" would have been sufficient. (I'm not a gamer.) In fact, I'm leaving an inch of desktop at each side of the screen for direct access to my icons.
