Just attach the base unit onto the window, plug it in, place your cell phone or air card (for laptops) in the pocket and you have improved signal. The zPocket boosts the signal received at the window and rebroadcasts to the pocket which holds your cell phone or aircard. The zPocket operates on both the CELL and PCS bands and comes with everything you need – window unit, pocket, and power supply.

Works as advertised; improves signal strength
By K. Gordon
The YX-110 performs just as advertised, and superior to many of its wireless counterparts. Many home-use cell-phone repeaters apparently only reproduce the external signal quality, and bring that electromagnetic environment inside. The problem with that is you have to get on the roof, experiment with signal strength to optimize the antenna location and aiming, then run the cord from that antenna inside to the wireless transmitter.Okay, first of all, what a pain. But even then you only reproduce the outside signal environment, if I understand correctly you don't improve on it.In contrast, the YX-100 takes all of 60 seconds to set up. (120 seconds if you clean the window before attaching the suction cups). You set it up where you use it, and it actually improves reception by adding power into the gain equation.Typically I get 1-2 bars of signal strength inside the house, and 2-3 bars outside. Using the YX-100 inside, I get 4 bars 90% of the time, and 3 bars the rest.Only drawbacks are:- you do need to leave the cell phone in the cradle, so earpiece/bluetooth is a must- only works for one phone at a time (as advertised)- the power cord from the window unit is not long, so if the plug is not near the window you'll need an extension- having a 20 foot cord from the unit to the cradle sounds like a lot, but after you subtract 6 feet vertical unit-to-floor and 3 feet floor-to-desk, there isn't as much placement flexibility as you might think- was hoping for a super-power-turbo-signal boost to 5 bars. It only gets me to 4 bars so I rated it 4 stars--But all in all a very good unit. Performs as advertised, and permits strong call quality in patchy areas. I also like not having another wireless device in the house irradiating the kids such as would be the case with a wireless repeater.

Made Me Happy!
By Lou A. Haddock
This product does an amazing job for me. Work in a rural high school with non-existant reception from AT&T...no bars. Not only does the zPocket sitting by my window give me at least 2 bars and ability to send/receive calls, my co-workers with poor cell reception only have to step into my office to be able to make and receive calls. May not work for everyone, but it definitely made me happy.

a LOT less dropped calls, better call quality
By happy wanderer
I live in a remote area on Maui. Our signal comes from a neighboring island 50+ miles away. It is a pretty clear shot to the Big Island over the Pacific from the receiving unit. I don't know what is or isn't in front of the transmitting towers on the Big Island. There are usually some clouds or vog between the two islandsI was getting 0-3 bars and frequent dropped calls before the zpocket. Now if my verizon DroidX is on the pad (i don't fold it into a pocket), I now get 3-4 bars and very few dropped calls. I would guess that my dropped calls decreased about 95%. Call quality is also generally excellent now.Right now zpocket unplugged I get 2 bars and -93dBm;unplugged 15 feet from unit (and window) 0-2 bars -113 to-97dBm;plugged in and 2 feet away form the pocket, it is 2 bars and -91dBm;plugged in and on the unfolded pocket pad, 4 bars and -73dBm;plugged in with the phone in the pocket 4bars, -73dBm;It may have helped my (1x) internet connection a bit, but it is still not great. I still can't watch a youtube video without a lot of pauses, but there does seem to be less of them than before. If I had to put a number on it, I would say that it gives me 33 to 50% improvement on 1x. It doesn't seem to give me any more 3G connectivity.I hope that this helps.
