Pros:- Great size for the price with tons of room for toys, hammocks, dishes and anything else.- Love the two front facing doors which makes everything easy to clean and access- Once it's assembled it has a very sturdy feel to it and does not look or feel cheap- Cage is lifted so the animal is never at ground level and the storage shelf is very handy- Wheels for easy moving and cleaning, even on carpet!- The ramps and hammock included are actually pretty nice, not too slippery and just the right size.Cons:- When I opened the box I laughed and thought that maybe ferrets packaged the box. All the shipping foam was destroyed in pieces and the box literally fell apart in my hands as I was opening it -- felt like it had been chewed on by mice or something!- The bag with the screws was torn open and the assembly instructions were crumpled into a little ball, like something you'd throw away. I don't know if my cage came used or how that happened but it was weird.- The holes didn't all line up and I had to make new holes / widen existing holes to put it together- Two metal pieces were bent. Looks ok now that it's assembled but made putting it together a pain.- If you're going to let your critter wander in and out of the cage you'll need to buy some kind of ladder as the cage is up too high for him to climb in by himself.- This one may not matter to most shoppers but the packaging it arrives in the mail in is the opposite of discreet. Huge lettering that says "FERRET" and a large picture of a ferret on all sides of the box. If you live somewhere that ferrets are illegal and are hiding one or maybe buying a cage for a chinchilla that would be awkward, haha.Overall it's a great cage and I'm happy I got it. All of the problems I had may be due to poor packaging and I was able to make it all work so all in all I am content with my purchase.

I would like to say that I don't normally review items, so that should be a statement of how pleased I am with the purchase. My mom ordered this for my Chinchilla about a week ago (Thanks SO much - love you!). It came earlier than expected, which was great. My boyfriend and I set it up. The instructions could have been more detailed but, like another user stated, the pieces are pretty obvious. Overall, the cage is spacious and sturdy. The large doors are very convenient. (I have included a picture above) I am incredibly pleased. I don't know about ferrets, but if you own a chinchilla (or several), I would definitely recommend this cage.

I purchased this cage for my beloved chinchilla several months ago. It is super spacious and taller than I had expected. I searched all over the internet and pet stores for the perfect cage. There are some brands out there cost that over $300 for a comparable cage, yikes not worth it! I decided on this one because the price was reasonable. However, it was on back order and I had to wait two weeks for it be in stock again. When the package arrived, it looked quite banged up. I guess I'm not too surprised since it's heavy and I doubt the delivery man took much care in trasporting it. The plastic tray was broken in several places, much to my disappointment. Afterall, it's an important part of the cage! I called Amazon to complain, but they couldn't provide me with a replacement (non existed). I didn't want to wait another two weeks to get a whole new cage, so I accepted a small refund. I ended up gluing the broken pieces together and it works fairly well.Assembling the cage was relatively easy. There were times when the pieces didn't fit, so I really had to put a lot of force into it. At the end however, everything turned out great! The cage is sturdy, well made, and looks beautiful with all the accesories inside. One of my favorite things about it is that there are two sets of doors that open to the right. It's easy to reach inside to replace accessories, change her food bowl, etc. The wheels at the bottom work great when moving the cage around. I also appreciate the shelf at the bottom for stoage.CON#1:Since this cage is ideally made for ferrets, the floors are made from parallel metal grating about 1 cm apart. Standard chinchilla cages come with 1 cm squares so that it is easier on their little feet. I solved this problem by placing YARDGUARD (hardware cloth you can buy from home depot) over the floors. I also added blocks of kiln dried pine so that my chinchilla can rest on them instead of the wire floors. This is the reason I can't give it a 5-star.CON#2:The metal ramps that come with this cage have some jagged, sharp surfaces! It's a piece of rectangular metal with many rung like bumps. The bumps were not properly filed and smoothed down. I was really concerned that my chinchilla would cut her little paws on them so I replaced them with wooden ramps I made from kiln dried pine planks.Overall, I am very satisfied with this cage after the above modifications. My chinchilla has plenty of room to hop around. She loves it!
