A spalted maple top and ash body combine for beauty and tone on the striking ESP B-206 6 string bass. ESP pickups at the neck and bridge with volume and balance controls are complemented by active 3-band EQ for maximum tone tweakability. 24 XJ frets and abalone dot inlays on a rosewood fingerboard. Maple-walnut neck has a 35" scale.

I was searching for an affordable bass guitar that "had the look" and more so THE sound and this was the best pick.I normally depend on customer reviews before making a purchase; there was none for this item and am i glad i took a chance and bought this one. I bought it a lil over a year ago and have had NO regrets since.It has a PERFECT finish; It is very sexy and smooth. Just by looking, feeling and playing this bass one word comes to mind - Q.U.A.L.I.T.Y!!!..I was cautioned against buying a guitar online, but with this you won't be sorry.I am a female with this 6 string bass guitar, ofcourse it makes me look good. When am practising at nights at home i get no complaints from neighbours, even though when am playing i "tend not to use the low volume" (if you know what am saying); they love it too. I honestly gave this item 5 stars because i can't honestly find a fault with it. So, if you are looking for an affordable bass guitar you can't loose out on buying this, if you do then i guess you are just picky.Percfect bass, get one!

This bass is ABSALUTLY amazing. And im saying that as a perfectionist. i play Dream Theater, king Chrimson, iron Maiden, Funk, jazz. This Bass can do it all. one draw back is the bolt on neck; not that much sustain.according to any website other than ESP this bass is a 35" inch scale giving the low B string a very nice tone with a nice string tension. included is a 5 piece maple/walnut neck VERY VERY good. walnut is very dense making tone very popy and sharp.BUTaccording to ESP.com this bass is a 34" scale with a 5 piece maple/rosewood neck.... very diffrent. but for the price you get what you pay for and rosewood isnt the worst wood out there. and in the end it comes down to hardware and pickups.at around the same price you can fetch an ESP LTD D-6 with a neck thru constuction. 34" scale. and grover tuners. its a great bass. only downside is that its made with Merbau witch is a great tonewood. but VERy heavy. the b-206 is 8-11 pounds the D-6 is 23.3 pounds... :(

I purchased this item for my son for Christmas, never having seen one in person. It arrived on time,and well packaged. The spalted maple is beautiful.
