Best Saddle??
By dc
Great saddle! Bought in 2009 to ride across the USA. This saddle beat mother nature, and held up during my long days on the bike. It is still in use two years latter.I considered other fine saddles such as Brooks. The simple fact is that a sore rear can kill a trip like this, so price was no object. During the short break in period, it is critical to not over stretch the leather by tightening the tension screw too much. If one does, it will break the fiber in the leather and sag uncomfortably. The point of perfect comfort is found by careful trial and error. Seat position, and saddle leather tension can be adjusted into almost a sling for your rump. This helps absorb road vibrations and little bumps IMO. I have the standard version, but would recommend the thicker one for heavy use and/or a heavy person. I am 5'10" 150.My son used one of these saddles without bike shorts all the way across the USA! I had to use bike shorts. The extra padding in the seat is required no matter what seat I use. This saddle is so good he felt fine without the extra padding! Of course, it looks way-cool to just wear regular shorts too.I found the black leather die rubs off under extremely heavy use. Such as 12 hour days in hot sun, rain, and sleet. I would recommend a natural color for this reason. The weather proofing is excellent. I don't use a seat cover, and it doesn't seem to matter. I probably should though, just because it IS leather.I discovered that a slightly slick seat is best. A combination of padded smooth bike shorts, and polished leather is perfect. Otherwise, one will develop "hot spots". I feel sure that a fabric covered seat with gel padding that grips ones clothes would have rubbed me raw after many hours and days on the road.My son owns two and had one where the leather separated and stretched too much. This USA company is extra nice, and helpful. They quickly mailed him a replacement! This problem is not common, but can happen due to the nature of natural leather variations. What more can one expect? They get an A+!

finest touring saddle ever
By Wolf Ginandes
I've had a lot of saddles. Some terrible, some good. I have Brooks saddles, Selle SMP saddles, WTB saddles, and many other more ordinary ones, but never before have I had a saddle I could ride for more than 50 miles without some discomfort until I got a Selle An-Atomica. I rode 100 miles in one day with my new Selle An-Atomica, and had no pain or discomfort at all. It is supremely comfortable. I bought two of these, and I will probably end up buying more for the rest of my bicycles. The best, the best, the best.

If you like Brooks, you'll love this
By Mile High Mark
I tried a lot of expensive plastic saddles before switching to a Brooks. I liked the Brooks, but after 600+ miles it was still not broken in. After reading the glowing reviews, I broke down and purchased a Selle An-Atomica (clyde version). The first ride felt amazing. All the support of proper leather saddle, but with more flex/suspension. No pressure under the sit bones, and no numbness. If you're tired of not being able to position your Brooks back enough, get this saddle. The rails will allow for a VERY rear-biased position. In fact, the saddle works better when shoved back and tilted up. It also requires a little more fine tuning position-wise, but it's totally worth it.
