Power Pro screws. For exterior applications. Bronze ceramic coating. Approximately 1000 hours salt spray resistance. Made of hardened steel. Star drive provides twice the drive torque of Phillips or square drive. Driver bit in every package. Type 17 drill tip drives in wood without pre drilling. Cross cut thread prevents wood from splitting and reduces friction. Flat head with countersinking nibs under the head will countersink the screw flush into wood. Compliant for treated lumber. Bulk.

We gave up on square drive Woodex when these came out. We live in a seacoast environment and so far these seem to stand up to the weather.But what kind of a writeup for a fastener does not contain the diameter and legnth?

Easy, Strong, and hard to strip

I purchased these screws from a local lumber yard and now I never use anything else. The star drive really torques down without stripping. They really do pre-drill themselves into most wood. They don't bleed. The threading really bites hard into wood and really joins two pieces of wood tightly.The reason for the 4 stars and not 5 is I have had these things snap when I drilled into hardwood without pre-drilling. I have found that once you start screwing them in to hardwood then don't stop. If you want to drive it just a little deeper they snap off. Because these screws grip so well it is hard to get a broken thread out. If you are constructing with softwoods such as redwood then you will never notice this problem.Once you learn to avoid snapping the screws then you will never want anything else. The number 8 screws take T20 Torx bits and the number 9 screws take T25 Torx bits. I am going to buy three boxes of these screws just to have on hand. And by boxes I mean 25lbs per box. They are that good.

These screws are the best screws ever made... heads never strip, reusable, rarely snap...these are addictive... I started buying these from local hardware stores... I checked last week and they were getting $9.99 a lb.This comes out to a little over $3 a pound! How can you go wrong?
