I had a bamboo rug under my dining room table for about 10 years until it finally died of abuse and was happy to be able to order a new one on Amazon. The rug is really nice and looks like it will hold up even longer than my old one did. Bamboo area rugs work well in an area where you don't want liquids or spilled food to soak in to a carpet. Because stained bamboo is a natural, uneven process, any additional stains blend in rather than advertising your clumsiness. But ... do not expect the really nice bright red in the picture - only the cotton trim is that color. The stained bamboo, is a darker, less saturated red - think more of an earth tone than a primary color. Not that it's bad, but it didn't go with the colors in my house. If you who want a more subtle color, it's worth a try.
