I just received my 44202 stereo microscope. It's just amazing. You can use it from the very first minute. If you want you can see one of the prepared slides right out the box, or any of the familiar objects at home, and you will discover a fascinating new world, hidden from your eyes.My kids and I have used it to see a lot of bugs, spiders, flies, flowers, etc. The x20 factor is the best for 3-D viewing, while the x40 factor is best suited for flat, smaller objects like slides, stamps or similar.The controls operate very well and allow an excellent level of command.I have found that this microscope is solid, stable and easy to set-up.I am very pleased to recommend this microscope.

I chose the 44202 model because of the rod holding the microscope body. With this set-up you can rotate the microscope to view objects that will not fit on the stage. I was a microbiologist for 30 years and for 22 of them I used a stereo microscope nearly every day. These were professional models and probably cost more then 5-6 times what the Celestron cost and I believe the image quality of the Celestron is as good as these expensive scopes. The images are in focus in the entire field, which is amazing for an inexpensive scope. The focus controls are smooth and easy to use and will, hopefully, last a long time. The built-in lights do their job illuminating the stage uniformly. Great scope.

The microscope is really good under 20X but the lighting isn't great when you have it on 40x. That's about my only gripe.
