I have to say there is no one more consistent than Smooth-On. I purchased a trial kit of the their special effects silicones Dragon Skin and Ecoflex and found them to be incredible products. Not only did the perform as stated, they were consistent when you mixed two batches with the same amounts.I heard many great things about Smooth-On from Guy Louis XVI of FuseF/X and I gave them a try and I'm hooked. I was so excited when I got the brush-on kit today, I'm literally jumping like a kid in a candy store.They have everything you need to make a mold of something and reproduce it in their awesome two-part liquid plastics. THIS IS NOT A LIFECASTING KIT! The silicones in this kit are primarily for industrial use, which means it only meant for molding inanimate objects and is not skin safe. But fret not, Smooth-On carries a lifecasting material called Body Double on their site that was specifically developed for lifecasting and is skin-safe. Believe me, their stuff is worth every penny you spend.Also the staff at Smooth-On are the best in the business and are willing to help you on whatever you need. Their Tech support is top-notch as well, so give them a ring about your next project and they'll guide you through it.Also this is a great starter kit for anyone interesting in making molds and casting replicas of their own artwork in plastic. The kit contains everything you need just short of the kitchen sink (if you plan on molding it of course, lol):- Rebound 25, a platinum-cure silicone molding rubber- Smooth Cast 300, a two part liquid urethane plastic- Sonite Wax, mold release to keep the plastics from sticking during molding- Thi-VexII, a thickening agent for the silicone mold- Quick start instructions and regular instructions.- Instructional DVDYou supply the model, mixing cups, stirring sticks, gloves, etc. Just be sure if you are casting a sculpture from oil-based clay, that it doesn't contain sulfur. Most will say if it's doesn't, like Chavant NSP (non-sulphurated production) or Prima Plastilina. Van Aken is supposed to be good too. Again this kit is great for beginners looking to get into moldmaking and casting, and Smooth-On's tech support can be found online as well if the instructions were detailed enough (they are complete with pictures to cut the guess work, aren't they the best). You're only limit is your imagination and I know definitely I'm going to have fun with this!

I used this product as my first foray into molding and casting polymer clay figures. Everything worked very well, exactly as described. Directions were easy to follow, none of the materials had any significant odor, and were overall pleasant to work with.
