The Virtual Acoustic uses the same technology as the Virtual Vintage line to create a pickup thats practically noise-free, even in comparison to humbuckers. The sound is very accurate, reproducing the natural dynamics and tonality of an acoustic instrument and enabling the Virtual Acoustic to capture the character of the particular guitar its mounted in. It installs easily in any round-hole steel string guitar. Its also got a volume control with a compensated tone network to minimize tone changes when the volume is adjusted. Supplied with a 12 foot cable.

I tried several soundhole pickups before I tried this one but, once I did it didn't take but about 10 min. to realize that this was the one. For a soundhole pickup under $100 Dimarzio hit a homerun with this one. I am using this with a 12 string guitar and, the sound is Superb! The Fishman Loudbox Artist amp that I have pretty much speaks for itself with any acoustic electric instrument but, this pickup sounds,looks and performs Great! The volume control is a nice feature and, the adjustable ploe pieces may come in handy, so far I haven't had to make any adjustments to these to get a balanced sound. The pickup is quiet and ,produces a fairly strong signal to the amp, no preamp needed, this could be because of the amp also. I am a true believer in using an acoustic amp for acoustic electric instruments. I have been musician for over 40yrs. and, I'm just now getting into the acoustic elctric scene and, I Love it. You can use a regular electric combo amp for an acoustic electric but, plug into an acoustic amp and, you'll understand why. I tried it and, it made a believer out of me. The cable that comes with this pickup is a very light cable I was a bit concerned that it may be too light but, it hangs out of the way nicely and, if you so desire it is very easy to feed it back and, tuck it between the strap and guitar, I always do this with all of my solid body electrics it keeps the cable out of the way and also acts as a strain relief just in case the cable would get pulled or stepped on. I had read one review from someone that they didn't like where the volume control was located because they would move it while strumming, so far I have not had that problem, could be because I am not an agressive strummer or picker, at any rate I highly recommend this unit for anyone looking for a Great soundhole pickup.
