Great Pedal Board /or/ Floor Tuner
By Swamp Rat
The title of this review says it all.I am an old pro player, and have lots of gear, lots of tuners (including a Korg rack tuner and a Conn strobe) and two pedal boards. I run this tuner on both my big and small boards.I have also used it "free-range"on the floor (with a power supply only . . . I assume this thing would suck batteries like a hungry dog scarfing down Ballpark Franks).Tougher case than you'll ever need, easy to read, fast.Best bulletproof floor tuner I've seen. Bigger than the Pitch Black, but not by much, and again, I strongly prefer the DT-10.This pedal was discontinued (it used to be black, which I slightly prefer), and I am glad it is back. I regretted not getting more than one for a long time, and I just ordered two more. By the time I got my first one, they were no longer available . . . . but I bought it sight unseen off the web . . . . and loved it from day one.The hardest part using the DT-10 is making the mistake of thinking you have to tune absolutely perfect according to the readout . . . . you don't; the readout is good and bright, fast and very sensitive, and you can tune extremely fast with this thing when you get used to it (which is easy and quick). Not "true bypass", but there is a lot of misinformation on this topic, and this is a very good buffer to have at the top of a chain of FX pedals . . . . do your homework if you like, OR just take my word for it, buffers are not all bad all the time. If you don't understand this, you really don't need to. Just buy the tuner. Also, you have a choice of two outputs . . . . to bypass or not . . . . depending on application, you can run through to the amp all the time, or mute the output whenever you hit the switch to tune, as you prefer. On my boards, I keep it so the foot switch mutes the signal to tune silently onstage . . . so it doubles as a mute* switch for silence between tunes, sort of a manual noise gate, if you will.Good for ending a tune with as well . . . . instant complete silence.* known as both the "mute" and/or "mutt" button (or function) . . . . . hopefully not getting too technical, or too dogmatic . . . . . get it, mutt? Oh, never mind . . . please overlook the weisenheimer doggerel . . . . ).The only problem I see with this tuner is that you can tune a guitar, but you can't tune a fish . . . . . but you can try if you want, just for the halibut.(ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha have a nice day, make lunch, not war . . . ha ha ha ha ha)

Quiet, just as good as the Pitch Black
By overbybr
I bought this for playing bass and it works flawlessly. I've gigged with it and have had no problems. I bought it over the Pitch Black primarily because the cable jacks are all on the top, and my board is set up cables at the top. Regardless, it's an awesome little pedal for a great price!
