dewalt 6" grinder

Shipped in good time and was well packed. The unit performs as expected and will handle heavier metal than my 4.5" grinder.

Dewalt 5"-6" Angle Grinder
By Gilbert G. Hernandez
Big difference from the Dewalt and the also-rans! The power is something I'd been missing forever, shudda made the leap years ago. I've been fabricating for 39 years and I'm sure I've created a graveyard of dead grinders, had them just die in my hands, die a slow lingering death and also had 2 go up in flames, and by the way had a couple just bleed out till the gears seized. This dewalt has performed flawlessly on projects I've thrown at it, done a lot of cutting 1/4" flat plate and a little on 3/8" plate, 1/8" diamond plate, 1/4" & 1/8" wall tubing. I'm not shy with this tool, lately projects have included several hitch jobs or mods, bumper and shackle modifications on my jeep, some rack work on my pals cherokee, and some real heavy mods to my buddy's car hauler. To those newbies in the art of fabrication grinding is the easy part, you start to separate the workhorses from the wannabes when it comes to serious cutting and bearing down on your tool and asking it to deliver! This tool is extremely comfortable to manuver, a little heavier than most 4 1/2" models but the slightly bigger wheel, power and reliabilty are well worth the trade off. I just sold a near new bosch grinder(also great tool) but it was just too uncomfortable and awkward for my use and I could not be happier with the upgrade. You definitely want the lock-on switch just in case you need it for those odd positions. My only complaint is that I wish it had a handle position on top of the head casing, it would give me one more option in a tight spot. Overall this is an excellent tool for any garage or pro fabricator you wont be sorry. Highly recommended, GilPros: Quality, powerful, ergonomical, quick change discCons: Only 2 positions for handle

Best grinder I've used
By relentlessfab
I absolutely love these grinders! I run 6" flap discs on them blending welds in my fab shop hours a day, every day, and they come back for more every time! These grinders are so durable I've only been able to wear out 1 of the 4 I have for use in the shop. Each grinder outlasts several sets of brushes in their motors, and the easy access covers for the brushes makes it a quick 5 minute change when you need to.High power and compact, I cant beat these for what we use them for; nearly as powerful as a heavy 7" grinder( I use 7" cutoff wheels on them!), but with the agility and accuracy of a 4 1/2" grinder. I'll be buying several more later this month, cant say enough good about these grinders!
