Halfway out to Colorado on the rack's maiden voyage, I looked in the rear-view mirror to see the outermost bike tilted at a 30 degree angle. The rubber straps still gripped the bike frame, but one of them had itself slipped off the rack. No wonder the instructions say to be sure to tie the separate fabric strap securely to the frame; this keeps the rubber strap bracket from shaking loose. Additionally, the two metal arms you see on top are spaced too widely to accomodate many children's bikes. I haven't checked out any of the competition, to see if they're any better.

The title says it all...I reviewed countless carriers before deciding on this one and it has not disappointed. The No-Wobble system works very, very well...the carrier is solid and still regardless of the terrain you're going over and the bikes don't move an inch when properly strapped on. I would recommend this bike carrier to anyone looking for a quality and solidly built carrier.

I purchased this rack years ago from my lbs in virginia. At first i didnt think the rack was worth the price but soon realized i was wrong. i also own a yakima and thule hitch bike rack that i was able to compare the hollywood racks bike rack to. The rack has tested well througout the years in harsh east coast weather. i have put over 80,000 miles on this rack on my 2002 acura tl and 98 ford explorer and have only very little to complain about. Lately (last 6 months) one of the rubber straps has snapped off, nylon strap has started to fray, end cap fell off, and the no wobble system has become non-existent. I contacted hollywood racks to purchase replacement parts and after having a short, brief conversation with one of their customer service reps, i was given the parts for free. Even better, i was offered free shipping on the parts. How cool is that?! I instead chose to pick up the parts from their business site in L.A. Picked up the parts this afternoon and was surprised how well the staff treated me. I also met the owner Neil and well let me just say that i was impressed with him as a owner. Not just was he helpful, but he made sure that i left with my old 10 year bike rack fully conditioned. This is how a business should treat its customers! Im sure thule and yakima makes nice products but with great customer service such as hollywoods racks, id be dumb not to purchase from them in the future.
