Love my time pedals
By D. Birch
I admit it ... I love my Time pedals ... I've used a few other designs (by Shimano, Mavic and others) ... what I like about the Time design is:a) Quick and consistent click-in -- the pedals rest at the optimum click-in angle and provide the kinetic feedback I wantb) Don't need my bike shoes if I just want to head down to the store as regular street shoes work with the pedalsc) Nice rotation allowance - thus my creaky knees don't complain - other designs seem to keep the rider too tightly bound to the pedal and don't allow for the kind of natural rotation I need ...I know, pedals are a personal choice and the rage these days seems to favor those little tiny 'stomp-in' circles ... if that is your bent - cool ... but for me - its Time all the way.

Best road pedal
By Road Chick
I have a hybrid that I was trying to turn into a road bike, so I purchased an inexpensive clipless pedal system and had a lot of problems clipping in, but even more problems releasing, which led to bruises (ego and knees) and I once landed flat on my back and hit my head, in traffic and on a hill, during a 100 mile ride. Release was even more difficult at the end of a long ride when i was tired or when my shoes loosened.I recently purchased a road bike and researched pedals for over a month, all the while keeping standard pedals on the bike until I could find just the right one. I decided on the TIME RXL because I read several reviews where TIME pedals were noted for easy release and knew that the RXL would offer a lighter weight rider an even easier release. They are even better than advertised! I feel safe and secure and I am not afraid of my bike any longer. There is an audible "click" upon entry and exit and the wide platform transfers all the power to the pedal, making hills just melt away underneath you and flats faster than ever before. The Cafe Cleats allow skid-free walking and no sliding on asphalt if you've stopped on an incline.TIME RXL makes perfect sense:a woman or lighter weight rider will require less release tension. The only minor complaint is color- my road bike is sleek and black and I wish the RXL came in black or gray instead of only white, although when you're riding, they are hidden beneath your shoe. Still.....
