Design defect

In our particular master shower, I've had to replace this Grohe 28143hose several times now. The typical failure mode is a leak developingin the coupling between the showerhead attachment and thehose. Although the hose looks very robust externally, thereis an internal soft plastic hose that seems to get puncturedfrom use. Thankfully, Amazon is carrying this part now, andthis latest time, I decided to order a couple of them so I havea spare next time it fails. We won't use Grohe next time thisparticular shower is renovated.

I've bought 2 of these in the last couple years because they keep breaking. I'm happy amazon sells it for lower than retail but why these things break so often goes to the quality of Grohe hoses. I need to call them up to get a replacement these days since I found out it suppose to be covered. Oh well ... lesson learned is if your building a new shower or remodeling, dont put in Grohe accessories.

accept no substitutes

After using a cheaper brand for several years we finally purchased the hose that's made for our Grohe shower head. This product is much better looking ,and much more durable, and doesn't leak! Worth the extra $.
