Way too dark

These tables look great on the internet but when I ordered them and I opened the boxes I was in shock. They were so dark they almost looked like a deep walnut to almost a mohagany color and the wood was really shiny. Not at all like the picture...Not one bit! We returned them for a full refund.

I ordered this table hoping it would match my Ashley Lakota Nailhead trim coffee table. I was skeptical because the color of the stain on the table is much lighter than my Ashley brand table...but others who wrote reviews stated that they were shocked at how dark the table was when they got it. So I took a chance. I could NOT be happier! The table is the perfect match for my coffee table. It is very much darker than the picture shown. It's a dark brown birch color....not a lighter oak color. If you look up Ashley Lakota end tables -- it is the identical color to them. It shipped quickly and was super easy to assemble. It is heavy and very good quality. I could not be happier!
