"Behring" up well!

I bought these from Partsexpress. They can be had for less on Amazon, but I needed to come up with over $100 to get free shipping, so it worked out cheaper in that particular case.I got these to use for a center channel (these being 4 ohm speakers, in series for an 8 ohm load; perfect for my mono center channel amp.). With no room for a sound-bar style speaker under the t.v., and placing a speaker above the t.v. would have it higher above the plane of the other speakers, I decided to place one of these on each side of the t.v. for excellent imaging.The frequency response is supposed to be very flat, but they can be somewhat bright depending on the source material - that is to say that the tweeters are capable of very good, crisp high end output. I guess they're just playing true-to-life probably.The vocals are rich and warm and natural sounding, and don't break up until I have the volume quite high, and that's probably a limitation due to amplifier clipping rather than the speakers.I think these speakers are actually more efficient than the rather pessimistic claim in their specifications; the ones they replaced were Pyle car audio 6x9's in boxes, that were rated at 96 dB, and these play louder and of course much clearer. The amp is just a 50 watt Radio Shack p.a. amp, but the center channel blends just fine along with my 4-way JBL's and Kef surrounds, which get 100 watts per channel.I'd say they are a great value for the sound, but being assembled in China I guess that they're made to be bargain speakers in the first place.The mounting brackets are a nice bonus, and I am using them, but they are pretty flimsy and are probably just barely strong enough for these light little speakers.I would have also liked to try the Pioneers and the JBL Control model speakers in around the same price range, and would have tried at least one of those if these had turned out to be disappointing, but I'm happy with these, and yes I would recommend them for the price!

As an audio pro, I've been wary of build quality of Bger products but this one defies that. They are solid speakers and work well. I mounted them with the supplied bracket on the wall of our church's foyer outside the sanctuary for when the occasional parent has to duck out of the service with a crying infant. This way they can hear the sermon. (I delayed the signal to the speakers so the sound would be in sync with the sound from the main speakers in the sanctuary). To test them I put some crankin' tunes through and was very impressed how well they filled a fairly large space. In the right application, I would highly recommend these.

I used to be an audiophile - then I got married. Going from a high-end system to a receiver and bookshelf speakers was an unpleasant adjustment made easier by the purchase of these solid performers. They have a tendency to clip at high output levels, but if loud is what you need, then you should buy my JBL Studio Monitors instead (they're not actually for sale...). For my small (10x15ft) office these puppies are perfect (along with my Cerwin-Vega subwoofer). I watch action movies and listen to jazz & rock with these things and the volume and sonic quality are completely adequate to my needs. Also, the included hardware is solid and no buzzing or other non-musical sounds have resulted from being wall-mounted. Additionally, the mount is very sturdy.Another good buy from the folks at Amazon.
