This is a true commuter pannier with several clever features

This is a true commuter pannier with several clever features. It has two parts: the bag itself & the mounting gear. The mounting gear is a plate with hooks that attaches to your bike & stays there. The bag attaches to the plate with zippers & compression straps. Once the bag is detached you can't tell it's a bike pannier! It has no hooks on it, no hardware to yank your clothes & poke you. It looks like a causal bag.The bag itself has a large compartment with a padded laptop pocket that will hold a 14" laptop, one large pocket that will hold papers. On the outside it has one large pocket that runs along the whole bag & two smaller pockets. The mounting plate has two pockets that are perfect for carrying bike locks. The bag is made of water repellant fabric & comes with totally waterproof rain cover.My bag is about 5 years old & had small issue with the mounting hooks: they had no locking mechanism to prevent the hooks from jumping off. I have no idea if they addressed that issue. I just made my own stops.

Great design, except for the zipper

I bought one of these 10 years ago. It works great, and I like that the harness attaches to the bike, and the bag detaches from the harness.Unfortunately, the zipper is not heavy-duty and failed after 5 years. If I carry anything of moderate weight like a 5-lb notebook computer or two cartons of milk the strain on the zipper can be too much, even if I use the straps. The zipper on mine has failed.

Great for commuting to work.

I commute to work about 5 miles through city traffic. I love this bag. I carry large files that are heavy (lawyer), and this bag has never let me down. I searched for the right bag for months. This is it.
