Piece of JUNK

This is the worse piece of junk I have ever bought. And the Holmes website customer service is even worse than this product. Used it three weeks, it started leaking and never stopped. Put water in, it runs out. No holes or cracks in it. Valve must be leaking. I followed the advice in the skimpy manual, but to no avail. So now I have a piece of junk that won't even make a good boat anchor. Don't buy it!!!!

No Filter, No Germs, No Fuss, Reliable, Compact - LOVE IT!

I have had my share of bad experiences with humidifiers, but I swear by this little guy. I've listed my reasons below:1. Warm mist - purifies water2. NO DUST - unlike the cool mist models2. No filter - means I don't pay the price of another humidifier by buying numerous filters each year3. It's Compact and light - it fits anywhere. I have it under my desk at work4. It's quiet (I have one at work and next to my bed at home)5. Effective - I don't get the flu or colds anymore7. Easy to clean8. Easy to transport - I use it by my computer then carry it and put it by my bed at night.8. Reliable9. No leaks (I have two units and have not had any problems with leakage from either)

Works well, simple, noisy on high power

We bought this humidifier about 5 years ago. It's simple and works. It's a bit noisy especially when you run it on high power, but we only use it on low power, so it's a nice background white noise, but you probably don't want it on the nightstand. on high it sounds like a pot on a rolling boil. we have it near the foot of the bed on a dresser, so on low power the noise doesn't bother us much.the bottom reservoir gets very hot.. so the heat from the bottom damaged the varnish on our dresser even when we had a 1/4in cork mat underneath the unit. now it is sitting on top of stacks of trivets and other hot-plate-mats to avoid further damage.Filling it is a pain, as the top part is slanted, so it will not sit upright so you have to hold the tank while filling the water, and not really be able to set it down once it is full (once you have the cap on, it's ok).Otherwise, it's a perfectly capable basic warm mist humidifier. We like it for our basic needs.
