Swiss watch? Sure... with Chinese internals.

I bought this watch as a gift for my wife and it was beautiful. I remember thinking when I ordered: "How could a watch this beautiful be so cheap?" The box is big, comes with all kinds of pictures of the Swiss factory... stories about how Stuhrling originated, etc... again: how could a watch this beautiful be so cheap? Well, I found out.After 6 months, the watch stopped working. Instead of fooling around with the shipping and warranty, we took it to a family friend who runs a jewelry store. Come to find out, all the fancy stuff up top is just a cover for the cheap Chinese-made internals underneath.The watch has since broken again. Vice paying to fix a cheap watch over and over (not to mention the time required and having to hear about it from the wife) our next purchase will be something which has the quality to match the looks. I purchased this watch for my wife's birthday. She loved it at first, however, after just three weeks the plating on the watch started to rub off! In case you are wondering why there are so many good reviews for this watch, the manufacturer offers an extended warranty for a good review. My guess is there are a lot of unhappy customers but they had already posted a good review.

Beautiful watch - impeccable time

I just bought this watch and have to say that it more beautiful than the picture shows. It is rose gold and iridescent mother-of-pearl. The time-keeping is impeccable. However, it is a rather large watch with a thick band and may not look good on small-boned women.
